Mexico

Day 1 - Arrival. We arrived in Puerto Vallarta airport just before 3:00 pm local time (it is CDT) and breezed through customs and arrived at our Hotel around 3:45. It was quite easy to get through the airport and find our transportation to the Miraval resort. We met up with Jeff, Margaret & Bob at the pool for some late afternoon swimming in he pool and getting some sun. Even in the short amount of time that day we managed to get some color.

Day 2 - Day 2 was all about the beach and the pool. We spent a lot of time on the beach. The girls and I did a some boogie boarding. The girls really loved it and because they are so light they can pretty much ride even the small waves all the way to shore. They also really loved the kid's pool with the water slides. We got a lot of color that day. We have discovered that the bay doesn't have any good snorkeling right at the beach so we won't be snorkeling by the hotel.

Day 3 - A snorkel boat trip. We booked a trip on an all-day excursion that was to a beach setup where we were supposed to be able to snorkel and do other activities at will. The trip started off badly because of rough seas. Laura got sea-sick and vomited on my dive gear. Alex and Laura were pretty queasy. Even Jeff, Margaret & I were feeling the affects of the rough water. Bob looked a little green but didn't get sick. Once we got there and the girls cooled off in the water they felt better. Because there were jellyfish we were unable to snorkel unless you did the guided tour, which the girls couldn't. Jeff did it, but he got stung by jellyfish (small ones) several times. I was able to do one dive which was quite good. I saw eels, a turtle, sea horses and a manta. Over all it was a good dive. So far, no snorkeling for the girls.

Day 4 - Today was more boogie boarding and swimming in the ocean. The girls also did a little time at the water slides. We have a sitter for the 3 kids tonight and the 4 of us are going into Puerto Vallarta to have dinner. I'm going to do some internet surfing to see if I can find a beach I can cab to for snorkeling (snorkel boats are no longer an option for the Fisher women).
