Christmas in Florida

Epcot
This morning we got up early and were in the first group off the ship. We got our rental car and drove to Orlando. We spent the afternoon and evening at Epcot center. It was such fun! And a great way to get in the Christmas spirit with all the holiday storytellers, the giant Christmas tree, carolers and more.
Some highlights – The Italian clown and juggler. He was so funny! Laura was in hysterics. He really engaged the crowd too. Alex’s top pick was the Chinese acrobats. These children were amazing with the things they could do. Singing with the singers and dancers in the Mexican pavilion was really fun – Feliz Navidad! The Norwegian storytellers were particularly good.
We did a few rides – Test Track, Nemo, the boat rides in Mexico and Norway – but mostly just enjoyed the atmosphere and the little shows. The ‘Reflections of Earth’ light show at the end was really magnificent.

Christmas in Tampa
Christmas day we drove to Tampa and had a very relaxed and fun family day. We had a wonderful Christmas dinner with Terri, Paul, Betty, Merv, Bill, Jenny, William, Alex and our family. I especially loved seeing the cousins having such fun together. A classic for our girls was swimming in a 65 degree pool when it was all of 65 degrees outside. The kids really had fun playing together all day long, from swimming, to Wii, to playing dress up and running around the house like lunatics.

Animal Kingdom
We slept in and after breakfast packed up and headed back to Disney. We spent the day at Animal Kingdom.
Apparently, Dan’s ride buddy is back. Alex LOVED the giant roller coaster, Expedition Everest, and went on it twice since Laura didn’t want to go. They also all did the Kali River Rapids. I chose to stay dry and instead caught some video as they went by. We had fun in Dinoland USA. I thought it was hilarious to listen to the girls talk about how fun the Triceratops Spin was (basically the dumbo ride with the ability to tilt forwards and backwards as well as up and down). I loved the Kilimanjaro Safari ride. Laura was content that she got to see an elephant. We finished off the day with Finding Nemo, the musical.
