Daytona Beach
We had a nice low key couple of days in Daytona Beach. We all bought sweatshirts to keep us warm as the temperature dropped and the wind kicked up. The first morning walking on the beach was so relaxing. I just love being on the ocean and the sun was shining even though it wasn’t particularly warm. I still got my toes in the sand and could smell the ocean. Ahhhh. That evening my friend Angela and her 2 girls joined us and we all had fun hanging out together.
The next day was very cold. The news was even talking about “wind chill” and Dan and I quickly abandoned our idea of a morning walk on the beach. We did all go down to see the Ponce de Leon lighthouse – the 2nd tallest lighthouse in the US. It was very pretty. The climb up and down was a bit daunting, but the view was spectacular. We spent the rest of the afternoon snuggled in the condo, playing cards, reading, watching movies, napping.
We’re now at the airport and about to play cards as we wait for our plane. We’re on the list to give up our seats if they need our seats as they are overbooked, so we’ll see what happens. We figure a few free tickets would come in handy for future vacations.
