Branson Jubilee

Yesterday we drove to Branson. We had hoped to take a final dip in the lake, but the clouds looked ominous, so we decided to get out of town before the storm hit. We had a lovely drive through the rolling hills of the Ozarks. It was hot and sunny when we arrived in Branson. We drove through town on Country Music Boulevard. We were laughing that it is like a mini family-style Vegas with a little Myrtle Beach thrown in. The girls are sad that we don't have more time as there are bumper boats, water parks, mini golf and much more.

Our room wasn't ready yet and we all needed lunch, so we ate at Dick Clark's American Bandstand Diner. Then, after unpacking the car, we went down to Branson Landing which is on the water just past the historic old part of Branson and wandered a bit, but it was very hot and humid and the girls were melting and Laura just wanted to go back and swim. We got tickets for the riverboat ride we'll take this morning and then headed back to the condo for a quick swim and dinner.

Last night we went to see Presley's Country Jubilee. It was wonderful entertainment. The Presley family (no relation to Elvis) opened the first theater in Branson over 40 years ago. There were 4 generations preforming on stage last night. Alex now wants to learn the harmonica and both girls are anxious to get back to their guitars. Such fun!
