On Thursday we drove to Nashville. We started with the intention of staying on the interstate and doing as quick a drive as posdible. That did not happen. At the Alabama Welcome Center Em saw some info about Bankhead National Forest and natural Bridge so we took a detour. We first stopped at Natural Bridge and hiked around there for a short time before heading to the forest. At Blackhead we mostly drove through but did stop at picnic area for a photo op. It was a very scenic drive but we didn't have time to hike to waterfalls.
After that we headed to Nashville and settled in to our room. We were hit by a big thunderstorm during dinner. At one point the lightening hit right over us and caused the lights to flash off. It was impressive.
